Requirements
A minimum of 2 screenshots across device types is required to publish your store listing at all.
Phone: 16:9 landscape, minimum 1920x1080 px, or 9:16 portrait, minimum 1080x1920 px, recommended; at least 4 screenshots at 1080px resolution recommended for app recommendation placement.
Tablet and Chromebook: minimum 4 screenshots, 1080-7680px, same 16:9 / 9:16 aspect ratios.
Wear OS: 384x384 px minimum, 1:1 aspect ratio. Android XR: 4-8 screenshots, 8:5 aspect ratio, PNG or JPEG up to 8MB each. Android TV requires at least 1 screenshot before publishing.
Common reasons submissions get rejected
Uploading a PNG with an alpha channel or transparent background -- not accepted.
A screenshot where the long side is more than twice the short side -- fails Google’s own validation.
Submitting only 1 screenshot -- 2 is the minimum to publish at all.
